The customs changes over the next 6 months?

January 2025
The first change comes with Delta T, as Phase 5 will become mandatory from January 21, 2025.
Phase 5 will introduce several new features that were previously unavailable. Notably, DELTA T P5 will enable the digitization of the transit accompanying document, partial release of goods at the authorized consignee's premises, automatic email notifications to the consignee upon issuance of the "release authorization," and will make SH6 mandatory.
The Customs Guide (below) outlines these updates and the launch of this fifth phase.
Starting January 31, the reinstatement of security and safety declarations in the UK on ICS – ENS will also take effect.

March 2025.
The Proof of Union Goods Status is a tool developed by the European Commission, providing operators with access to multiple documents and guarantees.
Its deployment is planned in two phases:
- Digitization of T2L and T2LF documents from March 1, 2025.
- Digitization of maritime cargo manifests from August 2025.

April 2025
ICS 2 (Import Control System 2) is an electronic system implemented by the European Union (EU) to enhance supply chain security and modernize the risk management process for goods entering the EU. It is gradually replacing the previous system (ICS 1) under the Union Customs Code (UCC).
This tool aims to ensure risk assessment related to security and to identify potentially hazardous goods arriving in the EU. ICS 2 also seeks to improve citizen protection and strengthen border security.
- In 2021, the system covered express and postal air transport.
- From 2023, it expanded to all air transport.
- The final phase, covering all other modes of transport (maritime, road, and rail), will begin on April 1, 2025.

May 2025
Delta IE is an evolution of customs clearance systems based on the framework of the Union Customs Code (UCC).
The goal is to digitize all processes, transitioning to a 100% digital management system. This will simplify workflows, reduce processing times, and enhance coordination between different operators.
This improvement will, among other benefits:
- Reduce customs clearance times
- Effectively track export flows
- Standardize customs exchanges at the European level
The export module will be deployed afterward, once the import module is fully operational.

June 2025
The GUM (Guarantee Management System) is an electronic system developed by the European Union to secure customs operations.
Its two main functions are:
- Transnational guarantee
- Digitization of communications
